When you get lemons 🍋, make lemonade 🍹… we got a delay and got rerouted through London with a few hours to spare… so of course, we went to explore!
We got about 6-7 hours layover in London (LHR airport); here is what we did for about 3+ hours!
Left our Luggage at the airport (they have paid services there).
Took the Heathrow Express to Paddington Station 🚉 (we bought two way tickets to make it easier for ourselves).
Took an Uber to Buckingham Palace
Walked to “Big Ben” & Parliament Square & Westminster Abbey
Took a photo at the red telephone booths (yes, the most American thing to do 😂)
Walked by the London Eye and had some snacks…
Took an Uber back to the station and Heathrow Express back with plenty of time for our next flight!
Tip: they are super picky at LHR airport with the liquids… make sure it is all under 100ml and in one baggie! (I had something that was 110ml and they kept it 🤪). Make sure you have enough time for the security because it is slow!!!
We only get to mark countries visited if we spend multiple hours in the country, have some sort of food and talk to someone local... we did all of that, so my daughter got to mark the UK off her list.
